Welcome back to the second half of PodCulture!
Christina opens the Tech Misadventure segment with the epic search a case for her sleek Evo 4G LTE. Brad has a new case, but had some trouble with light leakage on his EVO, leading to some difficulty exchanging the phone.
Glenn’s Optimus is having the green screen of death, but is avoiding sending it back for repair. He is happy that Asus sent a GPS improving dongle for his Prime, and is enjoying the Marvel Augmented Reality App.
Christina is happy that Brad went all Dollhouse on her Kindle Fire, wiping it to make it an Android Tablet. She and Brad have helped her parents order a Dell computer online.
Glenn introduces the book Mythical by C.E.Martin. He gives us a brief synopsis as well as sharing a contest to give away downloads of the book! He talks about his own writing attempts and the various ways to get works out there nowadays. Christina mentions E-Reader News Today as a resource. Brad finds the “Cabin In The Woods” novelization and appreciated Joss Whedon’s fingerprint on it. Christina is listening to Deborah Harkness’ “A Discovery Of Witches”, enjoying the “appreciate who you are” motif. She goes on a rant about the awfulness of 50 Shades of Grey.
In closing, Glenn talks about Prometheus, carefully avoiding spoilers. He discusses the first time he had seen Alien and the sequels. He notes some of the visuals and favorite moments. Christina entreats listeners to suggest good books Everyone is excited for Fandomfest in Louisville in the next week!

Christina illustrated a really good point with her tirade on “50 Shades of Gray”. Quality isn’t always an issue with self-published ebooks. The story seems to be more important, as 50 Shades’ sales show.
I can’t urge folks enough to take back up the pen and write if you’ve ever wanted to. Self-publishing is so easy, there’s really no reason to not give it a try. You might get wildly successful like 50 Shades, or just make a few readers happy. But at least you’ll have gotten your work out there, without having to fight through the publishing slushpiles of old.
