Brad, Nick and Richard are in Studio N this week, avoiding noisy basketball neighbors. Nick is almost healed up and back in the console room.
The boys discuss the first Doctor, William Hartnell. A great way to segue into the origin story of Mr. Hartnell and Doctor Who is An Adventure in Space and Time, but Nick gives a backstory. Richard interjects to begin with the Dalek episode, the first couple being very dry. They note that the show began as more educational than science fiction and they enjoy the commentary and audio tracks for the early stories on dvd. Brad sprinkles in his colorful comments as Nick and Richard give a linear review of the first Doctor’s stories. Richard raises the question of age with regard to actors. The gang draws parallels between the original and the current Doctor. Nick lists off Hartnell’s companions and how the series production progressed.
